My First Flight: From Small Town Roots to Big World Goals
I was 12 when I first dreamt of studying abroad.
Growing up in Malegaon, a small town in Maharashtra, I didn’t have anyone around me who had taken that path. There were no clear directions, no role models to follow but just a big dream and the determination to chase it.
I’m proud to say that I became the first person in my family to step out and study abroad. It wasn’t easy. In fact, most of my family didn’t support the idea;not even my mom at first. But my dad believed in me when no one else did, and that belief gave me the strength to move forward.
There were delays. I had to take a gap year due to visa issues. At times it felt like things were falling apart but The moment I walked into the airport, ready to board my first international flight, I saw the pride on my dad’s face and the tears in my mom’s eyes, everything suddenly felt right, like it was all meant to happen just this way.
This flight wasn’t just a journey to a new country, it was a step toward everything I had dreamt for since I was a kid.
I hope to continue growing, learning, and making my dad, my uncle, and my family happy and proud.
